The 12-hour / 24-hour settings in the app apply to the vertical timeline in the main week view only. In the detail view (pull down week view) the dates and times are formatted according to the system-wide user settings for time format (main settings app: General -> Date & Time). These settings should usually not be overridden by an app when displaying a date or time string.
